The following are the general rules of conduct of Moms Classifieds. We would like Moms Classifieds to be a pleasant experience for everyone – so please, play by the rules.

Our General Mission Statement:
The mission of Moms Classifieds is to offer an affordable alternative to expensive newspaper ads and the big auction sites. Our goal is to provide a positive environment where Moms, Dads, Grandparents and others can find items that they need at a fair price and to sell items that may be of use to others.

Our Privacy Policy:
As a family of young twins, we find telemarketing and survey calls during meal, playtime and naptimes highly annoying. For us, there isn’t a good time to answer these types of calls. We also receive way more mail than we could ever use, want or desire – therefore, all personal information received by Moms Classifieds will be used to establish buyer and seller accounts, process credit card payments for paid ads, and to contact buyers or sellers only if problems occur. We do not sell, trade or otherwise provide customer information to anyone. All sellers and buyers using Moms Classifieds are expected to adhere to this standard as well. Please contact us to report abuse or misuse of this policy.

Please keep in mind the following:

Moms Classifieds is open to anyone browsing the web. Other visitors to our web site can view your member ID, feedback rating, city, state, country and items or messages that you have posted on our web site. Visitors will not be able to view your telephone number, but we do require that you provide your telephone number to us during the registration process. This allows us to contact you regarding potential problems with ads that you place.

In order to complete a transaction, the buyer and seller will communicate directly. To enable such communications, potential buyers will click the "Contact Seller" link. This will allow the potential buyer to send an e-mail message to you but will not reveal your e-mail address. From that point forward you may establish any communication method that both parties find acceptable.

We will disclose user information when we believe such disclosure is necessary to investigate, prevent or take action regarding illegal activities, suspected fraud, situations involving potential threats to the physical safety of any person, violations of our User Agreement, or as otherwise required by law.

Things You Can Do to Keep Your Information Safe:
We go to great lengths to protect all of your information on our web site. In order to help us maintain the security of your personal information, we ask that you not share your password with anybody. If you lose control of your password or you think that somebody has obtained unauthorized access to your account, immediately change your password. To change your password, please login then select the "Change your details" link on the left side of the page.. Please contact us if you have any questions.

At no time will Moms Classifieds ever contact you via email for personal information, including credit cards, social security numbers, or other private information. This practice is called “phishing” and any emails requesting this type of information should not be replied to. Report any questionable e-mail message or Web site to the real bank, company or government agency, using a phone number or e-mail address from a reliable source. And if you're pretty sure an e-mail or Web site is fraudulent, contact your state’s Attorney General’s office and the Internet Crime Complaint Center (www.ifccfbi.gov), a partnership between the FBI and the National White Collar Crime Center.

Our Shipping Costs Policy:
Moms Classifieds does not require any posted listing to be shipped outside of the seller’s local area. However, if a seller agrees to mail or otherwise deliver items to a buyer outside of their local area only shipping costs (including receipt of delivery and insurance costs) actually incurred may be charged to the buyer. No additional fees, bank charges, handling costs, packing fees, or material costs can be added to the buyer’s final costs, other than actual shipping costs. We suggest that you price your item to include any fees that you may incur if you ship items (for instance, foam peanuts or bubble wrap). Charging $3.85 for an item, and then mailing the item for $1.21 in postage with no packing materials IS NOT acceptable.

Our Delivery of Items Policy:
Moms Classifieds is not responsible for the delivery or receipt of any items sold on Moms Classifieds. We highly recommend that sellers who mail items to buyers do so using a tracking number. Please see our Tips for Sellers for suggestions on ways to do this.

Our Payment for Items Purchased Policy:
Moms Classifieds does not guaranty payment of any items listed in Moms Classifieds. It is at the sole discretion of the seller to determine what methods of payment they will accept. However, no additional processing fees or bank charges, can be added to the buyer’s final total.

Our What you Can and Can’t Sell Policy:
Moms Classifieds is a service for Moms and their families to sell unwanted and unused items. Items that are illegal are illegal to sell here. Any posting that attempts to sell something illegally will be removed, and the seller may be banned. Some examples of what you cannot sell include:

• People
• Drugs – including illegal drugs, over-the-counter drugs, prescription drugs, other medications, or alcohol.
• Pirated, bootleg, or other illegal copies of video games, movies, music, concerts, photos, sporting events, or software.
• VHS or CD-R copies of television programs taped off of television
• "Backup" or "archival" copies of software programs
• CD-Rs containing scanned pages from a book, magazine, manual or other copyrighted written materials that were not written by you
• Protected or endangered species – whether animal or plant – or items made from parts of endangered species (including rugs, ash trays, umbrella stands, bedding)
• Stolen goods
• Military, law enforcement or transit authority uniforms, identification, badges, or other items that could be used to suggest a persons employment with such an agency.

Our Policy Regarding Children Using the Site:
Children (persons under the age of 18) are not eligible to use the Moms Classifieds unsupervised and we ask that children do not submit any personal information to us. If you are under the age of 18, you may use the web site only in conjunction with and under the supervision of a parent or legal guardian.
